5 Things to do this Spring
The team at Desk Jockey is constantly looking for ways to get out and about, but much like you, we keep finding ourselves back at our desks. As Spring is starting to creep in around different areas of the country we started thinking about some of the things we are looking forward to in the coming months.

Taking in a Baseball Game. It seems no matter where you live there is always some form of college, minor league, or major league baseball to check out. Every ballpark has its own ambiance, and it’s a perfect excuse to get outside! If you happen to have a beer and a hotdog to complete the experience, we won’t tell on you.

Going on the Hunt for Live Music. Obviously concert halls and arenas are one way to go about this, but may we suggest another avenue? As the Winter cold makes way for the warmer temperatures of Spring, you’ll find that many restaurants and pubs will fill their patios with some talented musicians. Signing Up for a Co-Ed Sports League. Putting events on the calendar make you plan to spend some time outside and usually helps to get your social fix as well. There are leagues for people of all skill levels and interest. Whether you are into competitive volleyball, running clubs, adult kickball, or laid back games of bocce ball, there seem to be groups for people of all ages. And if you really want to frustrate yourself while having fun there is always golf…

Getting Nostalgic. Adult kickball may have you thinking about your youth already, but there are so many other things to do. Get the kids off the cellphones and out in nature. Possibly have them fly a kite on the beach or find a great place for a hike. It’s easy to get caught up in technology these days, but sometimes just setting down the phones and getting outside is just what the doctor ordered!
- Taking a Road Trip. Affordable gas prices make it easier than ever to gas up the car and go. The Spring is usually a great time to visit friends. Maybe a jaunt to Florida is in order to see your favorite MLB team preparing for the season? Or possibly you need to hit the road to Chicago or Savannah to partake in the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations? It’s most likely something a little more subdued, but it’s definitely a good time to gas up the vehicle and hit the open road.
